چکیده

A graph G = (V, E) is a pairwise compatibility graph (PCG) if there exists an edge-weighted tree T and two non-negative real numbers dmin and dmax, dmin ≤ dmax, such that each node u ∈ V is uniquely associated to a leaf of T and there is an edge (u, v) ∈ E if and only if dmin ≤ dT (u, v) ≤ dmax, where dT (u, v) is the sum of the weights of the edges on the unique path PT (u, v) from u to v in T . Understanding which graph classes lie inside and which ones outside the PCG class is an important issue. In this paper we propose a new proof technique that allows us to show that some interesting classes of graphs have empty intersection with PCG. As an example, we use this technique to show that wheels and graphs obtained as strong product between a cycle and P2 are not PCGs. keywords: Phylogenetic Tree Reconstruction Problem, Pairwise Compatibility Graphs (PCGs), PCG Recognition Problem, Wheel.

Triangle-Free Outerplanar 3-Graphs Are Pairwise Compatibility Graphs

A graph G = (V,E) is called a pairwise compatibility graph (PCG) if there exists an edge-weighted tree T and two non-negative real numbers dmin and dmax such that each vertex u ′ ∈ V corresponds to a leaf u of T and there is an edge (u′, v′) ∈ E if and only if dmin ≤ dT (u, v) ≤ dmax in T . Here, dT (u, v) denotes the distance between u and v in T , which is the sum of the weights of the edges ...

Two lower bounds on

The lower bounds on communication complexity measures of language generation by Parallel Communicating Grammar Systems (PCGS) are investigated. The rst result shows that there exists a language that can be generated by some dag-PCGS (PCGS with communication structures realizable by directed acyclic graphs) consisting of 3 grammars, but by no PCGS with tree communication structure. The second re...

COSPECTRALITY MEASURES OF GRAPHS WITH AT MOST SIX VERTICES

Cospectrality of two graphs measures the differences between the ordered spectrum of these graphs in various ways. Actually, the origin of this concept came back to Richard Brualdi's problems that are proposed in cite{braldi}: Let $G_n$ and $G'_n$ be two nonisomorphic simple graphs on $n$ vertices with spectra$$lambda_1 geq lambda_2 geq cdots geq lambda_n ;;;text{and};;; lambda'_1 geq lambda'_2...

4-Prime cordiality of some classes of graphs

Let G be a (p, q) graph. Let f : V (G) → {1, 2, . . . , k} be a map. For each edge uv, assign the label gcd (f(u), f(v)). f is called k-prime cordial labeling of G if |vf (i) − vf (j)| ≤ 1, i, j ∈ {1, 2, . . . , k} and |ef (0) − ef (1)| ≤ 1 where vf (x) denotes the number of vertices labeled with x, ef (1) and ef (0) respectively denote the number of edges labeled with 1 and not labeled with 1....

ON NEW CLASSES OF MULTICONE GRAPHS DETERMINED BY THEIR SPECTRUMS

A multicone graph is defined to be join of a clique and a regular graph. A graph $ G $ is cospectral with graph $ H $ if their adjacency matrices have the same eigenvalues. A graph $ G $ is said to be determined by its spectrum or DS for short, if for any graph $ H $ with $ Spec(G)=Spec(H)$, we conclude that $ G $ is isomorphic to $ H $. In this paper, we present new classes of multicone graphs...
